MindBerry is a coaching and therapy services provider that was founded in 2016, in London UK.
They provide one-to-one coaching and counseling with qualified and experienced professionals.
MindBerry's goal is to simplify the process for users to search for coaching or mental health professionals, and book sessions any time, anywhere.
Challenge
Mental health has always been a neglected area within the Healthcare Sector. This has led to a lack of awareness about how to approach and evaluate mental health issues. The COVID-19 pandemic has further exacerbated the issue and has had severe adverse effects on people’s mental health. Now, more than ever, people need a platform that enables them to seek timely and effective assistance.
MindBerry has only a web-based platform which limits users from having access to MindBerry, users will need to use a PC/Laptop to be able to use the provided services from MindBerry.

Background research
Like everybody else, we took to the internet to understand everything about the domain as well as the issues faced by people who suffer from anxiety.
Psychological distress is defined as a state of emotional suffering typically characterized by symptoms of depression and anxiety, which is recognized as a common mental health problem in the community.
27% reported feeling anxiety and 15% depression in the last seven days, Aug 2022. For 30%, the main reason influencing their current emotions is the economic situation. The general situation in world has affected the daily life of young people as 46% report having less motivation to do activities they usually enjoyed. 36% feel less motivated to do regular chores. A situation that generates deep concern and is a call to national health authorities is that 60% have felt the need to ask for help concerning their physical and mental well-being. Despite this, 40% did not ask for help.
User Interviews
Once we understood the domain, it was clear that the theme is very personal and people wouldn’t provide enough information through google forms. So we decided to conduct user interviews with people online. We conducted a one-to-one survey with over four participants from the age group 20 to 40 years.
Competitive Research
We conducted competitive research to gain insights into the features and solutions of our competitors. Identifying 6 of our direct competitors was the first step.

Then we went through each platform and analyzed it to find any opportunities or gaps that we could fill.
Define
Persona
We wanted to form a deeper understanding of our users' goals, needs, experiences, and behaviors. So, we created two personas for each of our user segments. They were based on user interviews, and we kept updating them throughout the project as we gathered more data. We used these personas whenever we wanted to step out of ourselves and reconsider our initial ideas.

Feature Set
After analyzing all the data we gathered from the research we conducted, we finalized the features that we want to include within MindBerry's app.
Product Map
A product roadmap is a high-level visual summary that maps out the vision and direction of a product offering over time. A product roadmap communicates the why and what behind what you're building.
Information Architecture
After defining both user and business needs for HSE App, we prepared some task flows involving the new feature. These were merged and expanded, resulting in user flows. The goal was to show how users might interact with the new features as they move around the app.
Design
We began the design process with low-fidelity sketches and wireframes to accelerate decision-making through visualization without losing time. We came back to the sketches throughout the entire design process to make sure that we don’t lose sight of our primary goals and ideas.
Using Figma, we translated the first sketches into low-fidelity wireframes. The aim of a wireframe is to provide a visual understanding of a page early in a project to get stakeholder and project team approval before the creative phase gets underway.
Once we were done with wireframes, we moved on to design the final screens on Figma. Our goal was to create a visual identity that’s aligned with the brand’s values and message. Also, we've checked the competition and took a deep dive into the catalog of references for inspiration.

It usually involves observing users as they attempt to complete tasks and can be done for different types of designs. It is often conducted repeatedly, from early development until a product’s release.
We created a fully-functional, high-fidelity prototype of the app using Figma. At the same time, we started recruiting subjects for the test who fit our criteria.
